Garry Thomson

I have a military background, having served in the Canadian Army Reserve for thirty-five years, retiring in 1996 as a Brigadier-General. During this time I commanded The Royal Regiment of Canada and later Toronto District (now 32 Brigade), and was Deputy and Acting Commander, Land Force Central Area. In that last appointment, I spent time in Croatia, Bosnia and Rwanda. In my civilian life, I was in the insurance world at the executive and vice presidential levels. Currently, I am involved in a variety of military associations and produce the Massed Military Band Spectacular at Roy Thomson Hall each October. I look forward to sharing my experiences and insights into our military history with you.
